Digital Imaging Market is set to Explode
According to InfoTrends Research Group estimates camera phones will account for about 60 percent of this market outnumbering digital cameras. Camera phones are expected to see higher sales in North America, where as in Japan or Europe the phones have not yet caught on as well. According to InfoTrends Research Digital camera sales numbered 70 million in 2003 worldwide, ranking in revenue of $10 billion. Rapid adoption of camera phones worldwide will generate an additional 29 billion digital images captured this year.
Over the next few years, there will be a wide range of camera phones with value propositions that appeal to each market segment and affect consumer behavior related to capturing, storing, viewing, printing, and distributing images.
