Learn Digital Photography - Basics
Whether you just got your first digital camera, are thinking about getting your first digital camera or aren't sure about what to do and how to get started, this is a great place for you to start. We've organized some of our articles into user skill level and these are some of the articles that we feel will help you get things rolling.
In this first section, Before You Start we just want to get you comfortable with the choices between digital and film-based photography and what the advantages of digital cameras. The cost of purchasing powerful digital cameras has been plummeting in recent years to the point where some very powerful cameras have come way down in price and are very affordable to the average consumer. This first section provides you with some very high levels of information.
After you've gone through the articles below and have purchased your camera, the articles below will help you get started. Reading these articles will NOT replace you sitting down and reading through your camera manual. Reading the manual should go beyond 'getting started' because there is always some really good information in there about how to do different things. There are always times where you will say 'jeez, i didn't know you could do that' when someone shows you something. If you can do it -- it's in the manual. Now that I've told you to go away, these articles are filled with some interesting general information that apply to all cameras and all photography.
